Anthropic adds AGENTS.md support to Claude Code
Anthropic added AGENTS.md support to Claude Code, starting with version 2.1.277. When a folder lacks a CLAUDE.md, Claude Code now checks for and uses AGENTS.md instead. The feature is implemented as a built-in Claude Code mod, part of an upcoming customization system for the harness.
