Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
KBlip (kblip.com) is an independent news aggregator. Browsing, search, and threads never require an account. We show no advertising and use no third-party analytics. An optional account (email code, or Google/X sign-in) unlocks account-specific features like bookmarks — see Accounts below. This page describes the data handling that happens across the site.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server records access logs: IP address, browser user-agent, requested page, and timestamp. We use them solely for security, troubleshooting, and aggregate visitor statistics (computed on our own server — no data leaves it). Logs rotate automatically and old entries are deleted; they are never sold or shared.
Cloudflare
Traffic to this site passes through Cloudflare, our CDN and DDoS-protection provider, which processes connection data (such as IP addresses) under its own privacy policy.
Accounts
Creating an account is optional and only needed for account-specific features. You can sign in with a one-time email code, or with Google or X — we store your email address, and for Google/X sign-in, an identifier from that provider so we can recognize your account on a later visit (nothing else from those providers). Signing in sets a session cookie so you stay signed in between visits. We never see or store a password. To delete your account or the data associated with it, email us at [email protected].
Local preferences
Interface preferences (for example your chosen feed sort order) are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device and you can clear them through your browser at any time.
Feedback
If you use the feedback form, we store what you submit — your message and, only if you choose to provide them, a name and email address — and it is emailed to us so we can act on it. The email address is used solely to reply to you. Ask us at any time to delete a submission.
Third-party content and usernames
Threads reference publicly available posts and articles. Where the source platform displays an author name (for example a Reddit or Hacker News username, or an X handle), we may show it as attribution, exactly as it appears publicly on that platform. If you are an author and want your name or content removed from this site, email us — we honor such requests promptly (see the takedown page).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data. Beyond transient log entries and public attributions described above, the only personal data we hold is what's described in Accounts above for visitors who chose to create one. For any request, contact [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If our data practices change, this page will be updated with a new date at the top.
